RSV

Jimi had to be hospitalized last Sunday afternoon because he had RSV.  I took him to the doctor Saturday morning because he had had a slight temperature the night before and a little cough, so I thought he had caught what Charlotte had.  The doctor said that it was just a virus, his lungs sounded fine and his ears were great, by 9 that same night he had a 103 temperature and his cough sounded like a fog horn.  We took him into Insta Care Sunday, they did a chest x-ray and it didn't look good and the doctor was really worried about what his lungs sounded like, so we decided to just have him admitted to the hospital.  At the hospital they sucked out his lungs, took his blood to test and see what exactly he had, gave him an IV because he was very dehydrated, and they gave him a bunch of breathing treatments. The test showed that it was RSV and another bronchial problem that i don't remember the name of.  By morning it was out of his lungs and just croup, so they let us take him home later that afternoon.  He is doing a lot better now, he still has a gross cough and runny nose, but he is running around and terrorizing his sisters, which means he is doing great!!
